Sundry and Vice, 2015

Since it’s opening in March of 2015, Sundry and Vice has garnered tremendous local, regional and national acclaim for its interior design and bar program. Julia won the prestigious award for Best Overall Interior Design for 2015 at the Cincinnati Design Awards. Her Sundry design was featured in VMSD Magazine and Interior Design Magazine. Its design and bar operation has also been featured in the New York Times, Eater.com, Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati Magazine, Cincinnati City Beat, Cincinnati Refined, and numerous other local blogs and websites.

Homemakers Bar, 2019

In just one year’s time Homemakers Bar has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today’s 10 Best, Liquor.com, Saveur, Eater, and has won Best Bar/Restaurant of the year in OTR. It quickly became a go-to favorite in the neighborhood. HomeMakers Bar is the slightly retro, mostly modern craft cocktail bar. HomeMakers Bar serves up classic and modern cocktails focusing on aperitifs, digestif and bitters. It is a space that celebrates makers and the community, it is a place that encourages you to defy conventions.

Fifty Fifty Gin Club, 2022

“Other than the goal of bringing Spain's love of a great gin-and-tonic to Cincinnati, Petiprin aims to provide other gin-focused classic cocktails at Fifty Fifty, such as the Fifty Fifty gin martini. With a house-made brine for dirty martinis and gimlets, all juice for the gin martini — already a staple at HomeMakers Bar — will be squeezed daily. There will also be other original craft cocktails, beer, wine and locally sourced snacks available for visitors.

"As a Cincinnati transplant, I always get excited to show people my favorite things that I've seen and tasted in other places," Petiprin said. "The Gin Club does just that. The menu is a collaboration with a few of the incredible bartenders at HomeMakers, our beverage director — Michael Nauer — and myself."

Other than its Spanish inspiration — and obviously the bar's namesake cocktail inspiration — Petiprin is honoring Ruth Lyons, a journalism trailblazer in Cincinnati, with Fifty Fifty. Lyons is known as the creator of the daytime talk show, and she remains a broadcasting legend. The 50/50 Club was Lyons' daytime TV series and a seamless tie-in for Petiprin's direction with Fifty Fifty Gin Club.” -wcpo

Tiz for Tender Hearts, 2015

Cincinnati, Ohio's new apothecary-themed bar Sundry and Vice knows its way around a cocktail, be it classic or contemporary. LA barman Brandyn Tepper (Hinoki & The Bird), who trained under NY's Sam Ross (Milk & Honey, Attaboy), consulted on the bar's opening menu, working in tandem with GM/partner Julia Petiprin. Most Sundry and Vice libations take simple form, calling for just a few ingredients. - Eater.com

Gus Gus, 2020

“Meanwhile, at the mid-century themed Homemakers, Los Angeles transplants Julia Petiprin and Catherine Manabat serve 1950s cocktail party-inspired snacks like ham salad and salami rolls (think Betty Draper's dream come true) and a cocktail list that focuses on aperitifs, digestifs, and bitters.” - Saveur

Subtropical, 2022

“After receiving the invite to the soft opening of Homemakers’ new Barcelona-style gin and tonic bar in OTR, I took full advantage. (Love me some gin, you see, especially in the form of a Negroni.) Dubbed Fifty Fifty Gin Club, its dark, intimate space carved out of the rear seating area of the original Homemakers Bar.

I ordered the watermelon Negroni, a refreshing, though potent, concoction clarified corabonated watermelon juice, Hendrick’s Gin, vermouth, Saler, and a little bit of salt. When owner Julia Petiprin asked me if I liked it, I told her it immediately took me back to the watermelon aqua frescos I often order at Mexican restaurants, but with a much appreciated kick.” - Keith Pandolfi, Enquirer
